Marilyn "Lynne" Anne Digby-Worsley, 87, of Goshen entered into rest on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Valley View Center for Nursing Care in Goshen, New York.
Lynne was born August 20, 1935, in Gloucester, England, the daughter of Francis and Cecily Beard. She received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Gloucester Technical College and married Bruce Digby-Worsley. Shortly after marrying, the couple moved to Toronto, Canada. After Bruce's early passing, Lynne attended oil painting apprenticeships in Trinidad and Mexico and then moved to New York City to pursue a career in fine art. There she met and married Robert D. Burnett. After extensive travels throughout Europe and the Middle East they settled near Warwick, New York and had three children: Sarah Burnett-Bennett, Robert F.M. Burnett, and John Burnett. Lynne lived a fulfilled and creative life focused on painting landscapes in upstate New York, Maine, Colorado, and Utah. Lynne also enjoyed writing and creating illustrations for her short stories. Lynne loved and was loved by her children and grandchildren.
Lynne was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Digby-Worsley, her ex-husband Robert D. Burnett, and both of her parents and is survived by her brother Anthony Beard and her children: Sarah Burnett-Bennett and husband Matthew Bennett (children Tessa and Meaghen Schaumburg); Robert F.M. Burnett and wife Harriet "Happy" Burnett (child Robert A.C. Burnett); and John Burnett and wife Laura Burnett (children Ellie, Finn, Easton, and Wylder Burnett). A celebration of Lynne's life will be held at a date to be determined.
