Karen was my best friend throughout my high school years, beginning freshman year as we endured Algebra 1 all the way to Regents Physics in senior year. Though life took us in different directions, including geographically, we always remained in contact and enjoyed getting together( sometimes with our other high school friends )whenever I was back in town. I treasured our friendship and we always picked up right where we left off. To say I admire her is an understatement. With all she went through over the years she was always upbeat and truly kept moving forward enjoying life. I will miss our calls and texts so much and am so sad right now though I know my loss is nothing compared to the loss for Drew, Matthew and Peter. I am comforted knowing the Lord is holding her in the palm of his hand.

Karen was always a loving and very kind person, who made everyone feel valued and welcome. Her smile lit up a room. She reminded me of our Aunt Sis, a special person who was really an Angel.
A very heroic fight right until the end. Well done!
