FREDERICK S. BARNES GOSHEN, NEW YORK Frederick S. Barnes, 85, of Goshen, NY died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at home. Fred was born October 29, 1924 in Goshen, NY, the son of the late Charles and the late Hazel (Hill) Barnes. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Niedzwiecki Barnes in 1976. Fred served in the Army during World War II where he received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He retired from the Department Of Public Works in Goshen, NY as a Foreman, was a member of the VFW New Paltz Post and was a former member of the Dikeman Hook and Ladder Fire Department, Goshen, NY. He is survived by his children, JoAnn Carey and husband Robert, Mark Barnes and wife Julie, Frederick J. Barnes and wife Tarah, Marianne O'Dell and husband Brian; 8 grandchildren, Joseph and wife Marci, Michael and wife Danielle, Margaret, Shawn, Jessica, Melissa, Juliana and Brianna; his great granddaughter, Paton; and many nieces and nephews Visitation will be Friday, April 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, May 1 at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
