Steve Hopkins is well known for his selfless devotion to everything Goshen, his many friends, and a hearty,
boisterous laugh.
Few people know of the quiet, sensitive side of Steve's personality.
My family and I know.
Steve and my father were long time members of the Cataract Engine and Hose Company. Steve did not spare Dad of his usual banter and jovial critiscim during their time there.
When my father passed away, Steve sent me a letter, praising Dad's talents, his devotion to the Cat"s, and our community. he spoke of their relationship with great repect, warmth, and praise.
Some time later, Theo and I suffered loss of our loving son, Joshua. Once again Steve responded in a personal heartfelt manner. The compassion he expressed gave us great solace in that most difficult time.
I have known Steve for decades. We shared many common interests and good times together.
However, the compassion and respect that he conveyed to my family and I, are a true testimant to Steve's character as a man.
I am proud to call him my friend.
