Obituary of Gloria Ann Victoria Zephyr

Please share a memory of Gloria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gloria Ann Victoria Zephyr, beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, transitioned to her Heavenly Father, peacefully in her bed at home, in the early morning of Sunday, June 9, 2024. Gloria was born on October 9, 1944, to Ulric and Lucille Ince (both deceased) in Guyana, South America. Gloria's life was a testament to community, dedication, and love. She was married for 53 beautiful years to Aubrey Emmanuel Zephyr, Sr., and together they built a loving family. She is the cherished mother of Aubrey Jr. and Julian, and the proud grandmother of Cheyenne and Adam. A guiding light for many, Gloria was an active member of the Girl Guide movement and other youth-focused community groups in Guyana. Her passion for education began early; she attended Graham's Primary School and then Tutorial High School. After completing her secondary education, she taught at her primary school where she shared her knowledge and nurtured young minds. Gloria was also an avid reader and skilled crocheter. In 1967, Gloria traveled to the USA where she began her professional career as a law clerk with an immigration law firm in New York. After marrying Aubrey in 1971, they relocated to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the Firestone Company. Several years later, they returned to New York, where Gloria worked at the Equitable Life Insurance Company until her retirement. Gloria's departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved her. She is survived by her devoted sister Lorraine and her brother Trevor, her husband Aubrey Sr., her two sons, Aubrey Jr., and Julian, her two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Adam, and their mother Sylvia, as well as extended family members Carson, Alex, and Amira Acevedo, Barbara and Clement, the entire Simon family, Faye, Gregory, Leith, Keith, Mark, Gordon, Andre, Roger, Michelle, and Roger Maynard, and Enid Butts. Her memory will also be cherished by the Ince/Simon clan in Guyana, UK, and the USA. Farewell, dear sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Sleep in eternal peace. All is well with your soul. A visitation will be on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 1-4 pm, with the Service beginning at 3:30pm.
