Obituary of Bernard F. Duesel Jr.

Please share a memory of Bernard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bernard F. Duesel, Jr., of Goshen, NY, a chemical engineer, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, was called home to God on Thursday, November 7, 2024, while holding the hands of his beloved family. He was 80 years young. He grew deep roots in Land O' Goshen where he and the love of his life, Lynn Ann (Kohrs) Duesel, raised their family and lived together for over 52 years. The son of Bernard R. and Mary (Dauer) Duesel, he was born in Yonkers, NY, on October 5, 1944, where he grew up with his beloved siblings, Marjorie Ackermann, Barbara McManus, and Frank Duesel. He was a devout Catholic, Mets/ Giants fanatic, John Deere aficionado, avid fisherman, lover of astronomy and photography. A piece of Bernie's heart will forever remain in Massachusetts at Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg, where he spent decades of idyllic summers creating priceless memories with generations of family. A graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Bernie held numerous patents, including his Wastewater Evaporator invention he created at Heartland Technologies, a big step forward in the environmental clean-up industry. An always humble man, Bernie always considered his greatest life's work his loving family. He had an endless capacity to love and care for those around him. When he declared he was "pea poppin' proud" of you (the highest pride there is), you couldn't help but smile for days. Survivors include his loving wife, Lynn Ann Kohrs Duesel, at home; his son, James Duesel and his wife Leslie Greaves Duesel of Milford, PA, his daughter Kristen Duesel Oleske and her husband Jerry Oleske of Millington, NJ, his daughter Sarah Duesel and her loving partner Michael Stevens, of Stony Point, NY. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Aiden Duesel, Connor Duesel, Jake Oleske, Joseph Bernard Oleske and Erica Oleske Rosenblum. Special thanks and endless gratitude to Mayra Denise Quispe, an angel on earth-nurse, now part of our family, who cared for our Dad with endless love and dignity. She was the eyes, ears and advocate for our Dad when we could not be present, bringing us all a priceless sense of comfort knowing he was never alone.
