Eleanor B. Freyberg Goshen, New York Eleanor B. Freyberg, 92, of Goshen, NY died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. Eleanor was born March 13, 1918 in Pleasantville, NY, the daughter of the late C. Leslie and the late Eleanor Adista Barnum. She was the widow of Richard H. Freyberg, Jr. She studied in Geneva, Switzerland and completed her degree at Columbia University Teachers College in New York City. During WW II, she volunteered as a nurse. She was a founder of the Noah's Ark Nursery School at the Presbyterian Church in Pleasantville, New York and taught there for many years. Afterwards, Eleanor became a Librarian for the Mount Pleasant Public Library in Pleasantville, New York where she retired in 1982. She is survived by her 3 sons, Richard H. Freyberg, III of Cordillera, CO; Peter L. Freyberg and wife Sunny of Guangzhou, China and Dr. Christopher Freyberg and wife Francisca of Orlando, FL; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made in Eleanor's name to the ASPCA. Arrangements are under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen, NY.
