Catherine M. Amberson Goshen, New York Catherine M. Amberson, 79, of Goshen, died Monday, September 20, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. Catherine was born May 18, 1931 in Queens, NY, the daughter of Peter A. Dirr and Marie (Schwenzer) Dirr. She was the wife of Robert J. Amberson. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Amberson; sons, Robert Amberson of Omaha, NE; Dennis Amberson and wife Nicole of Olathe, KS; daughters, Cathy Smith of New City, NY, Veronica Attanasio and husband Matthew of Oak Ridge, NJ and Kim Amberson of Goshen, NY; brother, James Dirr; sisters, Helen O'Brien, Ann Marie Hannon, and Sabina Grimmelbein; 8 grandchildren, Sean, Nicole, Robert, Patrick, Christina, Griffin, Kate and Olivia May; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, September 23 from 6-9 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Friday, September 24 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
