Amelia J. Kearns, 79, of Goshen passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Elant of Goshen, Goshen, NY.
Amelia was born January 5, 1931 in the Bronx, the daughter of Charles and Jane (McDonough) Eisenbeck. She was the wife of Joseph Kearns.
She was a loyal employee of Orange County Government Center, Goshen, NY. for many years.
Amelia attended St. Columba School in Chester, NY and graduated Salutatorian of her class. After graduation she went on to marry the love of her life, Joseph Kearns, Sr. on Sept 18, 1949. They spent the next 61 years together in Goshen raising their family. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist church, Goshen, NY and the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her husband: Joseph Kearns of Goshen; her 2 daughters, Elaine Reisner and husband Bob of Braselton, GA and Jane Mangiamele and husband Paul of New Windsor; Sister -In-Law - Jane Hoerner. Grandchildren - Joshua Reisner and wife Elizabeth, Kristina McLaughlin and husband Dave, Megan Kingsley and husband Brian, Alvin Spargo and wife Allison, Amy Spargo, Emily Kearns, Ashley Morris and husband Chris, William, Molly and Scott MacGregor. 5 Great Grandchildren - Ally, Andrew, Dean, Keira and Elle Marie. Also survived by several Nieces & Nephews. Welcoming her to heaven is her son Joseph Kearns, Jr..
The family wishes to acknowledge the kindness of the nurses and staff at Elant of Goshen and all our friends who loved & cared for her.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, November 18 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen,, NY.
Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen.
