Geraldine Lillian Toomey Chesapeake, VA Formerly of Goshen, NY Geraldine Lillian Toomey, 88, of Chesapeake, VA died from natural causes on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Allzwell Assisted Living Center in Chesapeake, VA. Geraldine was born April 28, 1922 in New York, the daughter of Guiseppe and Margherita (Artese) Rutigliano. Born and raised in New York, She lived in Goshen with her late husband John Toomey from the early sixties through 2004. Geraldine is survived by four sons, Michael Toomey, Kevin Toomey, John Toomey, and Daniel Toomey, as well as three grandchildren, Jason Toomey, Jonathan Toomey, and Charlotte Toomey. A devoted wife and loving mother, Mrs. Toomey was an avid bowler and a lover of music. Some of her favorite moments occurred during the holiday season, joining her entire family in musical sessions. She was incredibly devoted to her husband of fifty-five years, and her family knows she will be happy to be with him now once again. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 5, 2011 at 10am at St. Johns Church in Goshen, followed by internment at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
