Beverly Ann Pietrucha Dembeck, of Goshen, NY passed away on February 1, 2011 around family at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus in Goshen after a long illness. She was 51 years old. The daughter of Sophie MaIko Pietrucha and the late Henry Pietrucha, she was born on September 5, 1959 in New Brunswick, NJ. She graduated from Franklin High School in Somerset, NJ and Middlesex Community College of NJ where she became Certified as a Dental Assistant. Upon moving to Goshen in 1980, she worked for Dr. Raymond Berweger in Goshen. She was secretary for Master Builders of Orange County Inc. of Goshen. Beverly was well known for her polka dancing ability. She was a founding member, choreographer, and director of the Imperial Polka Dancers from Central NJ, and held the title of 197677 National Harvest Polka Champion. A great part of her legacy was her thirteen year dedication as choreographer and director of the Karolinka Polka Dancers who were based in Pine Island, NY. where she gave polka instruction classes. The exhibition polka dance group was established in June of 1982 and performed all along the East coast at festivals, theaters in the round, resorts, nursing homes and parades. They were also featured on the CBS The Early Show with Harry Smith, polka videos, performed at The Statue of Liberty and many notable venues with Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra including the prestigious Lincoln Center. Beverly also lent her talent to the Orange County Onion Harvest Festivals where she was featured dancing with Harvest Moon Ball Champion, Richard Labanowski. She was also selected as a Marshal in the Town of Goshen Bicentennial Float Parade in 1988 for her contributions to her heritage and her devotion to its youth. Beverly's talent and her love for polka dancing is key to the popularity of polka dancing in Orange County. Beverly will not only be missed for polkas, but her love for angels, the Christmas season, all her decorations and her famous Nut Crackers. She had a caring heart, warm personality and a golden smile. The Clarinet Polka will never be the same without Bev' s grace on the dance floor. "You're the beat that keeps us all in step."
