Obituary of Joyce T. Cook

Joyce T. Cook, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Valley View Center for Nursing Care, Goshen, NY. She was one day short of her 85th birthday. At her bedside were her son and daughter-in-law. Prior to her retirement, as a Nurse Teacher for Orange Ulster BOCES in 1986, she held the same position in the Washingtonville Central School System for several years. She was an active member of Saint James Episcopal Church in Goshen, and a member of its Vestry. Joyce was a ten year member of the Goshen Central School District Board of Education. She moved to Tennessee in 1986 and returned to Goshen in 2009. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Irving R. Cook; her son and his wife Mark Cook Sutherland and Pamela Sutherland of Goshen; her daughter Elizabeth Joy Kessler of Franklin, Tennessee; grandchildren Ty and Brett Sutherland, Alexander and Kristen Kessler, and Mac Kenzie Mayo; her cousin Ruth Houston Fowler of Fort Meyers; and her nephew Bruce Thompson of Goshen. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 5-8 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 12, at the Funeral Home, Bishop George Langberg officiating. Internment will follow at the Cemetery of the Highlands, Highland Mills, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's name may be made to Gospel Volunteers, Inc., P.O.
