ALAN JAMES SQUIRE June 22, 1935 - December 28, 2008 Alan James Squire, 73, of Lake Ariel, PA formerly of Bergenfield, NJ, died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. Alan was born June 22, 1935 in Jersey City, NJ the son of the late Ralph and the late Mary (Gloster) Squire. He was the widower of Deidre Squire. Alan served in the U.S. Army, after the Service he worker as a Postal Carrier and retired after 35 years for the U.S. Postal Service, Teaneck, NJ, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1345 and an avid golfer. He is survived by his sons, Alan Squire and wife Josephine and Daniel Squire and wife Lina; daughters, Patricia Squire-Quirk and Maureen Fischer and husband Don; brother, Ralph Squire and 8 grandchildren. Alan was a loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family. Visitation will be Thursday, January 1, 2009 from 6-8 pm and Friday January 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 10:30 am at St. Stephen's R.C. Church, 676 Kearny Ave., Kearny, NJ. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ. Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc.
