Martin Dykshoorn, Sr., 91, of Goshen died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at home in Goshen. Martin was born June 4, 1921 in Maasland, Netherlands, the son of the late Ewoud and Jaapje (Keijzer) Dykshoorn. He was the widower of Carolyn B. Vriesema. Martin was a self employed dairy farmer at his farm in Goshen, a member of the Goshen Christian Reform Church and a member of the senior bible study group at the Church. He is survived by his sons, Edward Dykshoorn and wife Ellen of Goshen and Albert Dykshoorn and wife Elizabeth of Goshen; brothers, Ewoud Dykshoorn of Middletown, Abraham Dykshoorn and Arie Dykshoorn both of the Netherlands; sisters, Wilhelmina Poot and Anna Sonneveld, both of the Netherlands; 3 grandchildren, Donna Foster and husband Chris, Edward Dykshoorn, Jr and David Dykshoorn' 3 great grandchildren, Kalie Foster, Christian Foster and Seth Edward Dykshoorn; and many nieces and nephews, both here and various countries. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn, son, Martin Dykshoorn, Jr.; and brother, Jacob Dykshoorn Visitation will be Monday, July 9 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 10 at 10:00 am at Goshen Christian Reformed Church, State Route 17A, Goshen, NY with Reverend Kevin Hossink officiating. Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Goshen Christian School, 2440 Route 17A, Goshen, NY 10924 Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen.
