Middletown, New York
Robert "Bob" J. Johnson, of Middletown, owner of the Beauty School of Middletown, was taken into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, after a courageous fight with lung disease, at Orange Regional Medical Center Middletown, NY.
Born July 26, 1936 in New York, NY, the son of Charles and Anne (Camille) Johnson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Bob was a driving force in the beauty industry. He was Executive Director, President and Treasurer of the NYSBSA and a member of the Board of Directors of AACS. Bob was past President of the Middletown Chamber of Commerce, Middletown, NY. One of Bob's greatest sayings was, "If you love what you do you will never work another day in your life. Bob was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Bob was a business man contributing to the community since the early 60's. He started out with a small Beauty Parlor and went on to become the owner of the Beauty School of Middletown. He always hoped his students would become as successful as he was
He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Barbara A. Johnson at home; 4 children, Jason, Anita, Victor and Robert; daughter-in-law, Carmela Johnson; grandchildren, Mathew, Christina and Nichole.
He was predeceased by his father Charles Johnson; his mother, Anne Cordts, and step-father, August Cordts; and his sister, Elizabeth Ornato.
Thank you to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan for their kind caring and helpful support. A special thank you to his hospice nurse Christa Reiter who always brought a wide smile to his face.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 15 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, July 16 at 9:30 am at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Middletown, NY.
