Alice DuBois Carey, 86, of Newburgh she died in the loving hands of her earthly family to the arms of her heavenly family on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus, Newburgh, NY.
Alice was born March 18, 1926 in Montgomery, NY, the daughter of Fred and Mary Kershaw Haley Dubois.
She retired as an Assistant Developer from IBM, Fishkill, NY. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Soup Kitchen, and the Bereaved Parents Support Group, she worked on many committees, helped at the Holiday family dinner, wrapped gifts at Tots 'n Us, helped on the dinner committee family picnic and National Children's Memorial Day. She also belonged to Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS). She loved to restore antique furniture and doing county cross stitch. She will be remembered for her loving and giving heart.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nancy M. Carey of Campbell Hall; brother, Lewis DuBois of Newburgh; 2 granddaughters, Kimberly Carey and Amanda Carey; 1 great granddaughter, Lana Vanasselt; special niece, Haley Walcott and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Special Agent Scott Kershaw Carey who died in the line of duty at the FBI; sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha, Hilda, and Charlotte; brother, John and Edward.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, July 26 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Church, 55 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Montgomery.
