Obituary of Antonius Joseph Van Der Poel

Antonius Joseph van der Poel (Ton) Chester Chester, NY- Ton van der Poel passed away on November 13, 2012, at the age of 66. Ton was born March 21, 1946 in Amstelveen, Holland to Bartlomeus and Petronella van der Poel. He was a resident of Chester since 1971 and became a citizen of the United States in September 2000. He was a former member of the Walton Engine and Hose Company, St. Columba's Church Choir and Goshen Drama Society. Ton was a manager for Henry C. Alders Wholesale Florist, Campbell Hall, NY where he retired after working for over 30 years. In addition to his loving wife, Carol, who he was married to for 42 years, he is survived by his brothers, Cyprianus (Ad), Cornelis (Kees) and his sister, Wilhelmina (Wil) and their spouses; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ton was predeceased by his brother Hans of Darien, CT. Visitation will be Thursday, November 15 from 5-8 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 16 at 11:00 am at St. Columba R. C. Church, 27 High St, Chester, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
