Obituary of Margaret Peggy Bowen

Margaret "Peggy" Bowen 74, of Slate Hill died peacefully with her family and friends around her on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Elant at Goshen, Goshen, NY. Peggy was born December 8, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. She was born the daughter of Patrick and Harriet Ansbro and raised by Michael and Mary (Ansbro) Gibbons. She was the wife of Kenneth M. Bowen. Peggy graduated in 1959 from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY she was a caring and dedicated nurse. She retired from Metropolitan Home Care, Brooklyn, NY. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth M. Bowen at home; 3 children, Kenneth Bowen and wife Debbie of Goshen, Edward Bowen and wife Patrice of Goshen, and Maureen Bowen of Goshen; brothers, Thomas Ansbro and Michael Ansbro and wife Diane; sisters, Harriet McDonald and husband Bernie and Patricia McNamara and husband Frank; grandchildren, Erin Lynch and husband Thom, Kevin Bowen and Megan Bowen all of Goshen; great grandson, Liam Lynch of Goshen. She was predeceased by her parents, and brother, Martin Ansbro. The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses and aides of Elant of Goshen for their loving kindness and professionalism that they showed Peggy in her final days. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Wednesday, June 12 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, June 13 at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel, 90 Euclid Ave., Middletown, NY. Burial will follow in Hamptonburgh Cemetery, Campbell Hall, NY.
