Carmine A. Varone, 69, of Chester died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. The son of Frank and Sadie (Nappo) Varone, Carmine (Snooky) was born March 2, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY.
He was the General Manager at Tiedemann & Co. in Mahwah, NJ from which he retired after 45 years. He was a gentle giant of a man, who worked hard, and motivated others to do so. His home was his castle, where enjoyed entertaining his family and friends with good food and beautiful surroundings. His greatest joys were his wife, children, grandchildren, and his beloved dogs. He was a man of routine who diligently went to the gym, and never forgot to put his lotto tickets in.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Petrina Varone at home; his children, sons, James Varone, Michael Varone and wife Caroline, daughter, Dawn Scotto and husband Tom; stepson, Jerry Terry and wife April; stepdaughter, Margaret Hurley and husband Kyle; sister, Sandy Magro; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa Zarcone, Antonio Scotto and Carmine Scotto; former wife and friend, Eileen; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Marie Varone and brothers, Frank and Michael L. Varone.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 9th from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, March 10 at St. James Episcopal Church, 1 St. James Pl., Goshen, NY with Father Carl Lunden officiating.
Burial will follow in Chester Cemetery, Chester, NY.
