Clarence T. Wade, 95, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Park Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Middletown, NY.
Clarence was born March 18, 1920 in Seguin, TX, the son of the late Charles and the late Carrie (Forcey) Wade. He was married to his beloved wife, the late Abbie Jane Sayles Wade, for 70 years.
Clarence was employed by Killey And Muller, Middletown, NY as a Machinist. He was past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Middletown, NY and was honored in New York City for 40 years of service; Chairman of the Board at St. John's AUMP Church, Goshen, NY for the past 50 years and past President of the Orange County Grand Jury Association and was honored for 50 years of service. Clarence umpired for the Goshen Little League in the 1940s and 1950s and was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 65.
He is survived by his daughters: Clarice M. Wade Pitkonen of Georgia and Florentina N. Mann and her husband, Charles of Middletown; three sons: Willie O. Wade of Middletown; Charles D. Wade of New Jersey and Clarence T. Wade, Jr., of North Carolina; brother, Rev. Robbie Wade of Texas; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; son-in-law, Taisto Pitkonen, Sr., of Florida, and Aleathia Hunter. Clarence is predeceased by his son, James and daughters: Sandra and Ronica; six brothers: Vernon, Thomas, Earle, Willie, Robbie, and Dr. Charles Wade and one sister, Ruby Daisy Wade.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 25th at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY. The Funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 26th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
Following the burial, the family will host a repast at The Evergreens, 505 Spruce Lane, Maybrook, NY (The old Maybrook Drive-in). If so inclined, please bring a covered dish.
