Obituary of Genevieve May Gotthardt

Genevieve May Gotthardt, 74, of Goshen, died Monday, March 31, 2014 in Ocala, FL. Genevieve was born August 21, 1939 in Cannonsville, NY, the daughter of the late Wilbur Ernest Carr and Vera May (Sampson) Carr. Genevieve retired 19 years ago and moved to Citra, FL with her husband Joe. She retired from the Orange County Infirmary as a Telephone Operator in 1995. Genevieve had the gift of gab, just a brief encounter with her and you would be friends. She enjoyed collecting coins and was known by her grandchildren as Moo Moo. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Gotthardt at home; children, Joseph Gotthardt, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Bloomingburg, Jenny Quinn and husband Michael of Goshen, Judy Gotthardt and partner Eric Aken of Goshen and Joann Thomas of New Hampton; her Stepmother Harriet Carr; stepbrothers, Wilbur Carr, Leonard Vandermark, Marshall Vandermark, Mark Vandermark, Jeff Vandermark and Vere Vandermark; stepsisters, Jennifer Bunt, Doris Zywarch, Margaret Moore, and Christine Carr; 8 grandchildren, Jared, Trevor and Ryan Gotthardt, Michael, Rachel and Katherine Quinn, Jasmine Gotthardt-Braun and Jessica Brat Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation will be Friday, April 18 from 5-8 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY, with a prayer service in the funeral home at 7:45 pm.
