Obituary of Josephine J. Sosler

Josephine (Josie) J. Sosler, 81, of New Hampton, NY, entered into rest with family at her side on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. Josephine was born July 27, 1932 in Middletown, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Rose Durante. She was the widow of Raymond J. Sosler, Sr. who predeceased her on December 21, 2008. Josephine was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a life long homemaker, and business partner with her husband Raymond J. Sosler, Sr. at Sosler's Garden & Farm Equipment, New Hampton, NY. After retirement, Josie worked at the Goshen High School Cafeteria. Faith was a very important part of her life, and she was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Goshen, NY and Our Lady of the Springs in Ocala, FL. Josie was one of the most kind and caring people you will ever meet. She was a very loving person who focused on her family and her faith. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her couldn't help but recognize the love and respectfulness she embodied. Her family loves her and will miss her with all our hearts, she will "Always Be In Our Prayers" She is survived by her children, Rhonda Hislop Root and husband Ken of Saratoga Springs, NY, Ray Sosler, Jr. and wife Missy of New Hampton, NY, and James Sosler of Hayden, ID; 4 grandchildren, Raymond Sosler III and wife Sally, Ashley Sosler and fiance Nicholas Hernandez, Sarah DeCenzo and husband Dan and Colin Hislop; great grandchildren, Raymond Sosler, IV and Genevieve Rose Sosler; sisters, Loretta Cammer of Guilderland, NY, Fannie Andersen and husband Holger of Ellenville, NY, Tomasina Kimble and husband David of Franklin, TN, and Rosemarie Sanderson and husband Harry of Strasburg, PA; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Rose Durante, husband Raymond, and brother, Pasquale Durante. Visitation will be Friday, May 23 from 5-8 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, May 24, 2014a at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Middletown, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
