Obituary of Raymond E. Pousson

Raymond E. Pousson, Jr., a 42 year resident of Chester, NY passed at home after a long illness on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at home. He was the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Kelly) Pousson. He was born on May 17, 1939 in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cynthia (Young) Pousson; two daughters, Cindy Brennan and husband Matt of Slate Hill and Jeanine Rivera and husband Lou of Middletown; son, Ray III of Monroe; six grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Brian, Brianna, Jessica and Christopher; sisters, Elaine Cirino, Marie Mitchell, Lynn Coll and husband Tom, brother Roger and wife Linda and many nieces and nephews. He served with distinction in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. He was a member of the New York City Fire Department from 1963 to 1987, retiring after 24 years of service, and a member of the New York City Retired Firefighters of Orange County and the Hudson Valley. The family would like to thank Hospice nurses Joanne and Ellie and Sister Ann for their loving care and dedication. Visitation will be Friday, July 11 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at10:30 am on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at St. Columba R. C. Church, 27 High St, Chester, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Raymond's name may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
