JOSEPH E. KATA GOSHEN, NEW YORK Joseph E. Kata, 86, of Goshen, NY, entered into rest Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. Joseph was born March 10, 1922 in Goshen, NY the son of the late John and the late Mary (Lis) Kata. He was the husband of Emily Kolman Kata. Joseph was a US Army Veteran of World War II, lifetime area resident, an avid fisherman, he played the trumpet and played in numerous dance bands, he was a member of the Musican's Union and a member of the Florida Marching Band. Joseph is survived by his wife Emily at home; 2 daughters, Elaine McGrory and husband Robert Greene of Moorehaven, FL and Karen Dodd and husband Donald of Middletown, NY; granddaughter, Shannon Salo and husband Don; brother-in-law Frank Kolman and wife Peg, sister-in-law, Shirley Kolman, sister-in-law Florence Zak and husband Pete and sister-in-law Ceil Rice and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2009 from 5:00 -8:00 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 3, at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
