Obituary of Evelyn D. Murphy

Evelyn D. Murphy of Goshen, passed away Sat., March 31, 2007 in Glen Arden Health Care Center, Goshen at age 87. She was a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Church of Mt. Kisco, N.Y., where she resided for 30 years. Evelyn recently moved to Goshen and was a current member of St. John the Evangelist R. C. Church. Evelyn attended Cathedral High School and then Grace Academy Secretarial School in NYC. She was an accountant for the U.S. Corp of Engineers, New York, NY for 30 years. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, bowling, sewing, painting, teaching CCD and spending time with her family. Evelyn is survived by her twin brother Gabbett A. and his wife Jean of Goshen; brother, John J. Murphy of Mt. Kisco, NY; five nieces and nephews, Gerard Murphy of PA, Mary Beth Steimers of Goshen, Eileen Wrabel of CT, Thomas Murphy of KY, Richard Murphy of NC and six grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Tues., Apr. 3, 2007 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St. Goshen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wed. Apr. 4, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist R. C. Church, 71 Murray Ave. Goshen. Internment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society, 419 East Main St., Ste. 307B, Middletown, NY 10940 or Hospice, 800 Stony Brook Ct. Newburgh, NY 12550.
