John Joseph Buhler, age 79, of Lake Ariel, PA died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at his home.
He was born December 10, 1927 in Bronx, NY the son of Otto and Emily Buhler. He lived in Monroe, NY, Campbell Hall, NY, Newark, NY and Ormond-by-Sea, FL. John was a World War II and Korean Veteran and belonged to the NYS National Guard. He was a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Telephone Pioneer of NY Telephone Co, Taught for Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA). John enjoyed dancing and fixing things. He was a devoted son, father and grandfather.
John was a self-employed contractor before joining the NY Tel Co in 1963. After 22 years he retired as a watch-engineer teacher at Bell Technical Telephone Co. (BTTC) Newark, NY. In retirement John remodeled homes and fixer-uppers.
John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Berninger Buhler and sons Paul Francis Buhler and wife Linda and granddaughters, Alison Peta and Rachel Alexis of Killington, VT; John Albin (Jack) Buhler and wife Robin and grandsons,Sr. Airman Matthew Joseph, Christopher Blais, Nicholas Cloud and Jonathan Michael of Goshen, NY.
Visitation will be held at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY., on Friday July 6, 2007 from 9:00 A.M. 11:00 A.M.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Johns Church, Goshen, NY
Interment with family only will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Somer, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the American Cancer Society, St. Johns Church, Goshen, Salesian Society of New Rochelle, NY, Hospice or organizations of your choice.
