Obituary of Thomas J. McKeown

THOMAS J. MCKEOWN, SR. GOSHEN, NEW YORK Thomas J. McKeown, Sr., 87, of, Goshen, NY, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Horton Campus, Middletown, NY. Thomas was born June 2, 1921 in The Bronx, NY the son of Joseph B. and Christine (Quinn) McKeown. Thomas was retired from Tom Sullivan Chevrolet in Monroe as the Parts Manager, he was very active with meals on wheels and the senior dinning program in Texas and attended the Jolly Seniors in Texas. He played for the Boston Red Sox Farm Team and was an avid NY Yankee, Giants and Knicks Fan. Thomas is survived by his loving wife Rita McKeown at home; son, Thomas J. McKeown, Jr. of Keller, TX; daughters, Sharon O'Donnell and husband Jerry of Goshen, Joan McKeown of Harriman; brothers, Robert "Bob" McKeown of Sun City, FL, Joseph McKeown of North Carolina; sister, Veronica Hannon of Rock Tavern; 8 grandchildren, Patricia Crawford, Amy and Andrew Collins, Ardith McKeown, Michael O'Donnell, Elise Tixon and husband Luca, Tom O'Donnell and wife Marisa, Jerry O'Donnell and wife Cynthia; 3 great grandchildren, Ben, Isabel and Jake O'Donnell and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Andrew McKeown and daughter, Elizabeth Collins. Visitation will be Monday, March 23, 2009 from 6-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen. Burial will follow in St. Anastasia Cemetery, Harriman, NY.
