Clifford Tuthill Ashman, 87, of Goshen, NY died Sunday, January 20, 2008 at home. Clifford was born April 4, 1920 in Staten Island, NY the son of Russell and Sadie (Smith) Ashman. He was the widower of Catherine Lewis Ashman. He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran who served during World War II and was a recipient of the Bronze Star; a retired carpenter, a 67 year active member of the Cataract Engine and Hose Co., Goshen, NY, a charter member of the Col. Ellis Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War based in Goshen, NY; and a lifetime member of Orange County Association for the help of Retarded Citizens-AHRC. He is survived by his three sons, Craig Ashman at home who is employed as a client worker at AHRC, Campbell Hall, NY, Curt Ashman and wife Ann of Ithaca, NY, Chris Ashman and wife Kathleen of Goshen, NY; 2 grandchildren, Sarah Eileen Hadden and husband James of Conway, SC and Mark Edward Ashman of Nyskayuna, NY; his faithful personal care aide Yaw Gyeabour. He was predeceased by a fourth son, Clarke who passed away in 1991. Visitation will be Thursday, January 24, 2008 from 5:00 8:00 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen. A Service will be held by the Goshen Fire Department on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm in the Funeral Home. Funeral Services and Burial will be held privately by the family. Contributions may be made in Cliffords name to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or Orange County AHRC, 245 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550 Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen.
