Was thinking of my childhood best friend Doug today! We lived on Linden St, in Ridgewood, Queens NY.
We had many laughs as he was such a funny guy!

I only learned of Doug's death a few months ago, and have had him on my mind now.
We were best childhood friends on Linden Street and when both our families moved from Ridgewood. I just learned of his mother Flo passing last year at 93. I spent many days with Flo while Doug was in Viet Nam.
I also knew Janice very well and learned of her passing even before Doug. We had so many laughs growing up with our neighborhood friends: Toni, Rosemary, Jennie, Bernie, Louie.....RIP!

Growing up with Doug, we were as close as you can get. We had so many laughs that it was uncountable. That was Doug's epitaph>"laugh" or he just won't do it. I can say a lot of things but it would be inappropriate. He was a little gross at times. lol
I was in Vietnam with Doug > not in the same place, just at the same time. Every time we spoke, he was under fire. He would just laugh and say: "Gotta Go". He worried me sick . lol
The one thing I can definitely say about Doug is that besides being funny, he was a great and lovable guy who lost his hair young and didn't care! He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. It was a shame we've been apart all of these years.

I worked with Doug at Alders. In the short time I had the pleasure of working with Doug, I got to know a kind, funny, and warm gentleman. He was always quick with a smile and a "good morning". I will miss his good natured personality and kind hearted demeanor. My heart goes out to his friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
