Obituary of Corinne V. Canfield

Corinne V. Canfield, 75, of Goshen, NY entered into rest on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen. Corinne was born May 16, 1932 in Middletown, NY the daughter of Charles and Charlotte (Irwin) Van Kleeck. She was the wife of William D. Canfield, Sr. Corinne was a 48 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Middletown and was past 9th District President from 1980-1991, past Orange County President in 1973 and was past Secretary and Treasurer of the Auxiliary; she was past Unit 151 President and presently was Treasurer of Unit 151. She chaired various committees throughout her greatly appreciated time within the American Legion Auxiliary. Corinne was also a member of the 8/40 for 38 years. In 1976 she was Chapeau of Salon 14 and in 1989 was departmental Chapeau. She was currently serving as Treasurer of Salon 14. She is survived by her husband: William D.Canfield, Sr. of Goshen; 5 sons, W. David Canfield, Jr. of Butler, PA, Daniel Canfield of Monroe, NY, Daryl Canfield and wife Juliet of Rosemont, PA, Dwayne Canfield of Goshen, NY, Dean Canfield and wife Millie of Middletown, NY; 4 daughters, Dr. Debra Arvanites and husband Dr. Thomas Arvanites of West Chester, PA, Donna Nossek of Troy, NY, Dorothy Canfield Johnston of Easley, SC, and Denise Canfield of Tennessee; 2 brothers, Stanley VanKleeck of Middletown and Paul Eldred of Calabash, SC; 3 sisters, Betty Vernooy-Weymer of Middletown, Sonja Vleer of Middletown and Linda Kanoff of Middletown; 13 grandchildren; 3 step granddaughters, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Douglas Jon Canfield. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
