James D. Harrington, age 75, of Goshen died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen. James was born January 13, 1933 in the Bronx, NY the son of Francis and Elizabeth (McCaffery) Harrington. He was the widower of Barbara Levine Harrington He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War, he was a retired New York City Fire Fighter, member of the American Legion Monroe Post and a member of AOH in Monroe. James also was a retired Postmaster for the United States Post Office in Billings, NY. He is survived by his 2 sons, James F. Harrington of Goshen and Thomas J. Harrington and his wife Barbara of Tampa, FL; daughter, Joyce E. DeGraw and her husband George of Shrub Oak, NY; 2 brothers, Kenneth Harrington and wife Ann of Chester, NY and John Harrington of Long Island, NY; sister, Betty Looney and husband Mike of CT and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Harrington, his brother, Joseph Harrington and sister, Joan Oliveri. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 27, at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in James name to the New York City Firefighters Association, 204 E 23rd St, New York, NY (212) 683-4832 Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen.
