Obituary of Robert J. Palkoski

Robert John Palkoski Formerly of Chester, NY May 5, 1938 March 14, 2008 Robert John Palkoski, 69, entered into rest on Friday, March 14, 2008 at his home in Lords Valley, PA. Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 5, 1938. He was the son of the late Zenon and Casmier Palkoski. He grew up in Demarest, NJ and served in the United States Coast Guard. He married his beloved wife Michele Mecca Palkoski on September 8, 1962 at St. Brenden Church, Bronx, NY. He was honorably discharged from the USCG in September, 1964 and went on to attend Fairleigh Dickinson University for accounting. Bob worked as an accountant on Wall Street for over 30 years and had since retired. He was proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing with his grandchildren, the NY Times crossword and working at the Hemlock Farms Fitness Center. Bob was known for his sense of humor and wit. He is predeceased by his son John Anthony Palkoski and beloved dog Zoey. He is survived by his loving wife, Michele Palkoski, his son Robert Michael Palkoski and wife Kim, daughter Christine Pearl and husband Rob, daughter Luanne Troiano and husband Lou and loving grandchildren Tyler and Tara Palkoski, Lauren Pearl, Louie and Anthony Troiano. Also survived by sister-in-law Claire Del Favero and husband Ronnie, sister-in-law Blanche Illenberg and husband Bob and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, March 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY. Interment will follow in St. Columba Cemetery in Chester, NY.
