Obituary of Charles Guerin

Remembering Charles .always on our minds forever in our hearts. Charles Norman Guerin of Morristown, New Jersey passed away on Sunday April 13 at the age of 92. Charles was born on January 10, 1916 to John and Mary Guerin, and was 1 of 7 children. Having been the last surviving member of his family, he always asked Why Me? Charles is presently survived by his loving daughter Cynthia Helen Adelaide Guerin (his baby) along with his grandson Jonathan Kekoa Harrington, whom he adored and was as he put it his lifeline. They both resided with him in Miami, FL. He is also survived by his eldest and only son Charles Douglas Guerin of Levittown, PA and his eldest daughter Linda Mae Guerin of Tampa, FL. Also by his two grandsons; Christian Charles Fleischmann who has followed in his grandfathers footsteps by serving his country proudly in the U.S. Army having just returned from Iraq. And then Blain Michael Fleischmann of Tampa, FL. Besides his immediate family the Long family lived him too, he was very fond of his nephews from his wifes family which included Edward, Robert, Richard and Barry and their families. He spoke of them often, commenting what a fine family his wife Adeliade had. In high school Charles was referred to in his yearbook as Charles is a quiet lad, in fact a very queit lad. Later Charles married his wife Adeliade of nearly 50 years, after they had both served their country proudly in World War II. Charles was an officer in the Army and was stationed in Fontainbleau, France and Adelaide was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. After the war they ventured out and moved to Miami in the 1940s where they decided to raise their family and then chose to reside there for the rest of their lives. During that time Charles served as a Deputy Sheriff for the Metro Dade County Sheriffs Department, where he would eventually retire. Charles now joins his beloved wife Adelaide (who passed away in 19991), on the day which would have been their wedding anniversary. Hel will be laid to rest right by her side in Slate Hill Cemetery in Goshen, New York. Charles was not only a loving and devoted husband but also a wonderful grandfather and father. Undoubtedly he will be surely missed by his family especially his daughter Cynthia and grandson Kekoa especially his daughter Cynthia and grandson Kekoa who were with him til the very endhis last moments. Charles had a very long life, one that will never be forgotten, we say to him: Rest in peace with Jesus Aloha til we meet again? Visitation will be Monday, April 21, 2008 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The Funeral Mass will be Monday at 11:00 AM at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen. Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen.
