Goshen, NY
Thomas Hill entered into rest on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 77.
Son of the late Joseph and Margaret Hill of Cadillac, MI, he was born on May 23, 1931 in Pitts, PA. He married Margaret Murphy Hill in 1954, who survives him at home.
Tom will be well remembered and tremendously missed by all who knew and were touched by him. His family and friends will remember him for his generosity of spirit, patience, kindness, warmth and love for his family and life. May he rest in peace.
He was a Korean War Veteran with the rank of Staff Sergeant with campaigns, assault of Inchon, Capture of Seoul, and the Wonsan-Hungnam-Chosin campaigns.
A life long pressman, working for the Times Herald Record, American Book, New York Tribune and Newark Star Ledger.
In addition to Peg, his loving wife of 54 years, he is survived by his daughter Maureen and her husband Chris Brophy of Wallkill, NY; and sons: Eugene and his wife Francis Hill of Sacramento, CA, James and his wife Carol Hill of Goshen, NY, Thomas and his wife Debra Hill of Wilton, CT. His grandchildren: Patrick, Christopher, Thomas, Alex, Siobhan, Callum and Fiona. Tom has two sisters: Patricia and her husband Lloyd Johnson of Royal Oak, MI and Mickey and her husband Andy Anderson of Satellite Beach, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
A Funeral Service will take place at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 10:00 am.
