Heartfelt condolences to the entire Sullivan Family on John's passing to eternal life. Good Memories of John..... Never petty or small-minded, John was a fireman's fireman always ready with a supportive word or gesture. As tough as he had to be during any given moment within an often times grueling job, yet not to the point of compromising his own humanity as was manifested when compassionately assisting any neighborhood kid presented with the occasional flattened bicycle tire or other incidental calamity. Conscienciously & professionally taking care of business at all times both at fires/emergencies as well as within the actual running of firehouse systems with a unique sense of grace & ease. Brother & friend to all, it will always be considered to have been a high honor to have worked in the company of this 'Traditional NY'er' Gentleman Firefighter albeit for a brief few years @ late '90's.....jmch.

I will always remember John for his beautiful smile and the best hugs anyone could give. Joe and I will always keep John in our hearts & prayers, along with Heather, and the boys. I can still see John walking down Main Street with a group of little boys dressed in their baseball uniforms carrying their team banner...he was so proud of his team. John was so kind and a great coach.... I am so sorry for your loss...

I can honestly say I don't remember a time when we were together and we didn't laugh continuously! Johnny had a great sense of humor, as we all seemed to, and I will always remember those days growing up with each other. As far as I am concerned, He gave the ultimate sacrifice responding to Fires and other emergencies for New York. It's not fair but seems all too true, that God takes the best ones early. I know we didn't get together often enough, but I'll miss you now even more. Until we meet again. Tommy
